Tooth Extraction in Faisalabad

We try to save a tooth where we can. When a tooth is too damaged, decayed or loose to keep, removing it can protect your mouth and stop the problem from getting worse.

Dr. Muhammad UmarBDS, Postgraduate Certificate in Dental Implantology

A tooth may need to be removed if

  • It is too decayed or broken to repair
  • Gum disease has made it loose
  • It is causing infection that cannot be treated another way
  • It needs to come out as part of a treatment plan

What happens

  1. We examine the tooth, and take an X-ray if needed.
  2. We explain why the tooth needs to come out and any other options.
  3. The area is numbed and the tooth is removed.
  4. We give you aftercare advice and talk through replacing the tooth if needed.

Afterwards

  • Follow the aftercare advice we give you.
  • Do not rinse hard, smoke or drink through a straw while the area heals.
  • Eat soft food on the other side of your mouth at first.
  • Contact us if bleeding, pain or swelling gets worse.

Common questions

Should I replace a tooth after it is removed?

Often yes, because a gap can affect your bite and nearby teeth. We can explain options such as implants and dentures.

How long does it take to heal?

Healing varies from person to person. We will tell you what to expect and how to look after the area.
